I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and was lucky enough to have an adventurous father who introduced me to exciting hobbies from an early age. When I completed High School I started a Wilderness Skills Certification at Bellevue College, where I learned Outdoor Leadership, Rock Climbing, and Wilderness First Aid, among other things. Through that program I got connected with an outdoor company for whom I taught rock climbing and skiing to people of all ages. However, I found that growth was limited with that career path, and decided to join the Coast Guard to seek out further professional development. Through the Coast Guard I have been stationed in many interesting places, including Juneau, Kodiak, and San Juan Puerto Rico. I now live in Santa Rosa, where I am teaching the next generation of Information System Technicians who will soon join the workforce. I still love to pursue adventurous activities and enjoy sharing them with my family.
